BIZARRE

The world, since birth, has been bizarre;

Oceans and mountains scattered near and far,

 

Dinosaurs and cockroaches walked hand-in-hand,

The former were found buried deep in sand.

Gondwana and Angara had a big fight,

Tore each other to pieces in their spite.

In this crazy world, nothing’s ever right.

You cannot comprehend it, try however you might.

When the  apes entered the jamboree,

Darwin’s evolutionary ideas roamed free.

Snakes grew wings, birds grew fins,

Others simply jumped out of their skins.

Meanwhile, the apes got smarter each day;

They grew long hair and wore spectacles, they say.

They rubbed stones for sport and created fire,

The fire that burnt their beards away.

They called themselves humans,

Tinkered with stone and metal kind,

They dug up the earth for things that shined.

Feeble in body, feebler in mind.

But when they invented weapons,

Creatures cried out in dismay,

The crazy humans came out to slay.

Later there were no animals, just lots of guns,

So they shot each other for fun.

Mother Nature is to be blamed,

For man’s mad side,

She gave him big brains,

Without a user guide.

The many brainy inventions they’ve made;

Things that glide, things that fly,

Things that divide and multiply.

These humans, I tell you, they’re all bizarre;

From the poorest peasant to the silliest czar.

Phoney Physics

When I was studying physics yesterday at the break of dawn, here’s something that entered my mind in my desperation, which I wrote on the index page of my fiitjee physics notebook-

“This humongously large notebook (hereby referred to as ‘PHYSICS’) is the sole property of Dev Dutta. The scrabblings in this notebook were created as part of a sinister science experiment by FIITJEE corporation to test the limits of human sanity under trying conditions. Many of the previous participants of this program can be found in mental asylums across the globe. The author of this text is writing his last lines of mental stability to warn readers not to go beyond this page. Satan himself could not have invented a more cunningly disguised Pandora’s Box. ‘PHYSICS’ is the armageddon of the 21st Century. The author strongly advises that ‘PHYSICS’ be kept under military surveillance, lest terrorists should try to use it for psychological terrorism.”

I wrote something similar in class 10 in my bio notebook.
